Why I am building Flow Clock
A small app to learn when I do my best work.
I work in a lot of different places: my study, shifts, and editing videos. At the end of a week I often don’t know where the hours went, or when I actually worked well.
So I started building Flow Clock, a simple tracker for all my work.
How it works
- Before I start, I write a quick to-do list.
- A timer runs while I work. I can also log time afterwards.
- When I stop, I write a short note and give the session a rating.
- Every Sunday I get a summary of my week.
What I want to learn
When do I focus best? Which kind of work drains my energy, and which gives it back?
The next step is planning big jobs in small blocks. For a video edit that could be: set up, sort the cameras, then edit ten minutes of film per hour, and finish with a final pass. Smaller steps make big work feel less stressful.
I will share what I learn here.
